MyPixelVault Duplicate Image Check

You can run a duplicate image check at any time, MyPixelVault will check and report if any images within the current repository are duplicated.

The duplicate checker looks to see if the digital signiture of the image (an MD5 checksum) matches that of other images, it does not check the content of the image.

Only two images that match exactly will be reported as duplicates.

As the number of images within the repository goes up the time it takes to check for duplicate images goes up at a faster rate. This option can take a few minutes if you have a few thousand images in a repository.

An image that has been found to be a duplicate will have its icon altered from to (if the 'Automatically highlight duplicate images setting is active).
